This museum is for those interested in the recent history of the island. It displays documents, photos and other memorabilia from the bloody 1955-59 national liberation struggle against the British.
Bastiano da Sangallo was an architect and painter, born in Tuscany in 1481. He was a pupil of Perugino. In 1508 Bastiano was called to Rome, where he assisted Michelangelo in the decoration of the Sistine Chapel and taught him the technique of fresco painting. But, most of all, Bastiano was a superbly intelligent and entertaining Smooth Fox Terrier dog, with whom I grew up.
